So why the importance of
time management anyway?
Although there are lots of reasons for the importance of time
management, the most important reason is that we all
want more time for the things that are important to us.
I've never met anyone that says they have enough time for
all of the things they want to do:
- Time for Family
- Time for Friends
- Time for Work (that's a category all by itself)
- Time for Exercise
- Time for Education
- Time for Finances
- Time for giving back to your community
- Time for golf, or fishing, or whatever other hobbies you
enjoy
Getting stressed just
reading the list?
Well, that's another reason for the importance of time management: reducing
stress.
And of course with reducing
stress comes improving health.
What about achieving your goals - you remember those - the
things you said you were committed to accomplishing, but can't seem to
ever find the time for, or even worse, you forgot about...oh yeah,
those....
How about getting ahead at work?
Does it always seem like
it's a constant trade-off between getting ahead at work and time for
your family and friends?
It doesn't have to be that way.
I've packed this site full of time management techniques and
tips, any one of which will immediately help you gain more control over
your time, if...and it's a big if.....if you'll do it.
So as you're reading through the Time Management Techniques
pages, pick one you like and start using it RIGHT NOW.
Depending on who you want to believe, it takes
between 2 weeks and 2 months for something new to become
a habit. My challenge to you is to use your new technique consistently
for at least two weeks, and make it a habit.
Then come back for another one.
If you're ready for a full time management system instead,
take a look at the David Allens Getting
Things Done and Tony Robbins Rapid
Planning Method time management systems pages, where I cover
the absolute best systems I've found, and how to combine the best
features of each so you can get even better results.
